The Method Of Detecting Whether The Capacitor Is Damaged Or Not:

There are 3 kinds of bad capacitors: 1, leakage; 2, breakdown; 3, no capacity.

1、Detection of small capacitors below 10pF

Because the capacity of fixed capacitors below 10pF is too small to measure with a multimeter, can only qualitatively check whether there is leakage, internal short-circuit or breakdown phenomenon. Measurement, you can choose the multimeter R × 10k block, with two pens were connected to any two pins of the capacitor, the resistance should be infinity. If the measured resistance (pointer swing to the right) is zero, then the capacitor leakage damage or internal breakdown.

2, Detection Of 10PF ~ 0.01μF fixed capacitors

Detection of 10PF ~ 0.01μF of fixed capacitors whether charging phenomenon, and then determine its good or bad, the multimeter can choose R × 1k block, the two transistor β-value are more than 100, and penetration current should be small.

The Pump Capacitor Selection

Single-phase motor running capacitor can be selected according to each 100W with 1-4UF. That is: 1000W should choose C running = 1000/100 * 2 (1.5) = 20UF (15) microfarads). Start capacitance should choose the working capacitance of 4-10 times. That is: C start = 20 * 10 = 200UF microfarads. Why 1000W single-phase motor should be selected 10 times? Because single-phase motors of more than 1000W need larger starting torque, so choose 10 times.

The capacitance required for single-phase operation of three-phase motors is optimal when the voltage across the capacitor is 110V at the time of operation.

Selection of capacitor voltage:

Withstand voltage formula: U (capacitance) is greater than or equal to 1.5 * U; such as AC220V motor, usually use 400V or 450V capacitor.

Caution:

Capacitor selection for motors has strict requirements on voltage, which must be equal to or greater than more than 1.5 times the rated voltage of the motor. The rated voltage of 220V power supply, capacitor rated voltage can not be lower than 400V. capacitance value has a certain breadth, bigger and smaller are not relevant, especially the starting capacitance, can be in the working capacitance of 2-6 times the selection.

Selection of capacitance capacity:

1, single-phase operating capacitance formula: C = 1950 × I / U × cosφ (microfarads) (with a capacitor, both start capacitance and operating capacitance, electric fans, washing machines and other small-capacity motors commonly used)

Example: a single-phase motor, rated current is 4.8A, power 750W, the use of how large the capacitance. C = 1950 × I / U × cosφ (microfarads) = 1950 × 4.8 / 220 × 0.8 = 34 (uF)

2, start capacitance capacity formula : C = 3500 * I / U * cos φ (microfarads) (with a capacitor is only put into the start, disconnected during normal operation, switch with a transfer switch or centrifugal switch switch)

Note: I is the size of the current, U is the size of the voltage, COS is the power factor. The capacity of the starting capacitor is 2 to 3 times that of the running capacitor.

What Are The Steps To Replace The Water Pump Capacitor?

1. Remove the pump: First you need to unplug the submersible pump from the power supply and release its power cord.

2. Open the pump body: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws on the heat shield of the submersible pump, and a hammer to tap part of the side of the pump body to separate it.

3. Locate the capacitor: Locate the capacitor around the battery pack, remove the capacitor's terminals, and check the capacitor with a multimeter to see if it is bad.

4. Remove Capacitor: Use flat-nosed pliers to pull the two clips at the top of the capacitor cover apart and remove the capacitor.

5. Replace the capacitor: According to the parameters of the original capacitor, purchase a capacitor with the same specifications and replace it on the small submersible pump.

6. Shut down the pump and test the motor: Shut down the pump again, turn on the power cord and test the motor to see if it starts properly.
