What Is Driver Door Module

The role of automotive door module is to provide intelligent and centralized control of the door and the electrical components around the door. Automotive door modules generally have two structures, one is switch-integrated and the other is motor-integrated.

Automotive door modules are generally available in two configurations, one with integrated switches and the other with integrated motors.Atmel Corporation introduces the ATA6621 LIN System Basis Chip (SBC), which is compliant with the newly issued LIN 2.0 standard. Compared to standalone LIN transceivers, system base chips like the ATA6621 are highly integrated and include a voltage regulator and watchdog.The SBC utilizes Atmel's high-voltage BCDMOS process and operates at up to 40V, making it suitable for use in harsh environments in automotive products such as automotive door modules, seating controls, or smart sensors, and also in drivetrain products such as engine control systems. To minimize EMC issues, the ATA6621 integrates a controlled slew rate function that complies with the LIN2.0 specification, and the receiver's input filter helps reduce RF interference on the bus signal. To meet the 42V power grid requirement, the bus output can withstand up to 60V short circuit.
Most of the functions of the door control module have already been integrated into the BCM.
