Centrifugal Switch Operating Principle

The single-phase motor is mounted on the motor rotor and the circuit is connected in series in the starting circuit. The centrifugal switch is mainly used to control the starting coil of single-phase motors.

What Is The Function Of The Centrifugal Switch Of The Motor

Classification Of Centrifugal Switches

How To Connect A Capacitor To A Centrifugal Switch

1. First remove the front cover bolts of the single-phase motor with a screwdriver.

2. If there is a coupling or key on the motor shaft, remove it first, and then use a wheel puller to pull down the front end cover of the motor. If you feel the cover is tight when you rotate the wheel puller, you can knock and rotate the wheel puller.

3. After removing the front cover, we will find that the contacts of the centrifugal switch are on the inner side of the cover, and the state of the two contacts is disconnected after removing it.

4. The contact is composed of two reeds, we can gently press the end of the reed, you can see its closed state, that is, the motor is not started state.

5. Centrifugal hammer is installed on the motor shaft, it is mainly through the centrifugal effect of motor rotation so that the reed from the closed state to the open state, thus disconnecting the start capacitor. After disassembling, there are two springs supporting the end cover of the centrifugal hammer in the shape of "eight", when the motor rotates at a high speed, it will change the state of the springs and no longer support the top cover of the centrifugal hammer, and at the same time, the contacts will be disconnected.

6. Be careful not to touch the winding of the motor stator when disassembling the end cover. Especially when disassembling the motor rotor, use cloth or other insulating items.
